I retired from the Greenville News in South Carolina in April 2012
after 27 years there and seven at the Augusta Chronicle. After a little relaxation – about six months – I am continuing to write and shoot photos, my two loves. So if you see me around town, I’ll be holding a camera or a pad and pen. Either way, I’m a curious individual, wanting to know what makes everything tick.
I hope to do a little free-lance work, writing or photography, in my free time. In fact, I have begun writing a couple of stories a week for the Greenville Journal, the weekly in my town.
While I live in the foothills of South Carolina, my spiritual home – the place I grew up – is in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina. Close behind that in my love affair with nature is the ocean, gentle beaches such as you find in South Carolina or rocky areas like those in New England and some of the Northwest.
